McAndrew, Raymond Joseph – Peacefully at Greater Niagara General Hospital on July 3, 2010 at age 87. Born in Mayo, Quebec to the late Joseph and Mary McAndrew. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene, children Brian (Nancy) and Jo-Anne Heaney (Jimmy), both of Toronto, five grandchildren (Kelly McAndrew and Andrew, Grainne, Sean and Arthur Heaney) and four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers Hazen and Gerry and sisters Eileen Boston and Marguerite. Retired from Carborundum/Washington Mills, Niagara Falls, N.Y. A Second World War veteran serving 1941-1945 overseas with the Lorne Scots and Provo Corps. Member of the Knights of Columbus and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 51. A founding committee member of the Niagara Falls Sports Wall of Fame and inducted as a member of the Dynamos Football Club, winners of the 1947 Ontario Rugby Football Union Intermediate championship, a first for Niagara Falls.
